The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.
Upcoming Headline Games
On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — rendering them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
